I was born in the Black Country and then moved to Birmingham 22 years ago. I have 3 children who are my world. I love travelling and doing home improvements, we celebrate every event throughout the year. Our favourite things are Halloween, Easter and Christmas.

How long have you worked for National Express?

I have worked for National Express for 20 years, started as a bus driver in Sheldon and have worked at various sites across the West Midlands.

What made you want to work at National Express?

I really like working in the community and I like driving so it was a combination of both.

What's the best thing about your role?

Every day is different, I get to meet and work with really interesting people from a variety of backgrounds.

What does an average day look like for you?

An average day for me is keeping up to date with legislative changes, oversight of colleague safety and providing advice to the local management teams. I also develop new ways of working with the implementation of our bus simulators and behavioural training.

What's been your biggest achievement since working at National Express?

My biggest achievement was achieving a Masters Degree in Business with Distinction.

What does bus travel mean to you?

Bus travel is a mobile community hub, not only is it environmentally friendly people really socialise and connect with each other. That’s the most important aspect of bus travel: it's the connections you make, not just the destination.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also study psychology and enjoy a spout of home improvement projects.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration are my children, they are the future and it's up to our generation to ensure they have a fair and long one.

Keep your eyes peeled for more behind the scenes interviews coming very soon.
